(DAEGU=Yonhap News)
A project to create an innovation cluster of the dyeing industry is picking up steam.
Daegu Dyeing Industrial Center, Dyetec, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Fashion Color Industry Cooperatives, and the Korean Society Of Dyers And Finishers signed MOA to build a cluster of the dyeing industry innovation cluster on June 19.
It aims to drive the mutual growth of dyeing and finishing industry in the region by building the private-sector leading cluster.
126 companies to move in will push for innovation through cooperative networking in such areas as establishment of eco-friendly and smart factory complex, construction of company and material database, joint R&D on added-value textile materials, joint promotion and marketing, and exchanges of technology information.
A Daegu city official said, "It is meaningful in that the private sector is leading the win-win cooperative project between textile companies and support organizations," adding that "We expect it becomes an opportunity to raise the competitiveness of the regional dyeing-related companies."
