According to Yonhap News,
(DAEGU=Yonhap News)
Daegu city is to expand its exhibition hall.
On July 2, the city is to hold the ground-breaking ceremony at EXCO, with about 500 participants including citizens, leaders of entities and companies.
Daegu is to invest KRW 269.4 billion by February 2021 to construct Exhibition Hall 2 in the scale of 40,471 square meters with one store below ground and two above ground.
The city is decided to extend Exhibition Hall to secure enough facilities to host 2021 World Gas Congress.
With this construction, EXCO will secure 30,000 square meters usually required to attract international large-scale events.
The city designed Exhibition Hall to symbolize "Door to exchange of global culture" and to serve as a landmark in the region through the beauty of Korea. To that purpose, it adopted eaves in the design.
The city expects the construction of exhibition hall 2 will stimulate the growth of MICE-related industries, such as accommodation, tourism, food, manufacturing, and logistics.
