Daegu-Israel IEICE signed MOU to support companies of the two countries

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) On July 16, Daegu city signed MOU with Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) on supporting companies of the two countries at "Korea-Israel Business Forum".

Daegu city said that Daegu mayor Kwon Young-jin attended the forum held at FKI Tower (Federation of Korean Industries) in Yeoido, Seoul and signed the MOU, to be followed by Daegu IR to Israel's economic delegation on July 17.

The MOU was signed with the goal of stimulating mutual development, exchanges and joint investment of the companies in the future industries including future cars, medical, and renewable energy.

Daegu city and IEICI plan to pursue provision of support for exchanges and joint investment between companies, share economic, trade, and industrial information, and opening of seminars, etc.

The city plans to hold "Daegu IR session" on July 17 to Israel's delegation to introduce the city's investment environment, infrastructure for high-tech medical and future cars, arranging B2B meetings with companies in Daegu.

Israel's economic delegation is said to involve HARMAN, acquired by Samsung Electronics, and numerous companies in the new growth engine industries such as future cars, digital health, and AI.

The city mayor said, "We will strengthen cooperation with Israel on self-driving cars, AI, and 5G to help our companies to improve capabilities in the fourth industrial revolution areas."
