(DAEGU=Yonhap News) "2020 Sciencepark INNOFAIR" will be hosted at Daegu EXCO in June, 2010.

Daegu City signs MOU on hosting Sciencepark INNOFAIR with Gyeongsangbuk-do, Asia Science Park Association (ASPA) on August 5.

Sicencepark INNOFAIR is scheduled for five days starting from June 2, 2020, where 15 science parks and 120 companies from home and around take part to have forums and exchanges.

Sicencepark is responsible for fostering regional industries, technologies and SMEs, and is run in varying forms from TechnoPark, Research Park, and Innovation Cluster, among others in many countries.

It is known that there are about 800 of them, while Korea has 19 Techno Parks.

Daegu City, along with Gyeongbuk-do, plans to encourage companies and enterprise support organizations in Daegu and Gyeongbuk to discover cooperative projects with foreign Scienceparks or foreign and domestic companies.

Asia Science Park Association is an international non-profit organization established in 1997 for development of science, technology, industry, and economy in Asian countries.

Daegu mayor said, "Sciencepark INNOFAIR is expected to contribute to revitalizing regional industry and economy by providing a venue for cooperation and exchanges between global companies, local companies and foreign experts."
