(DAEGU=Yonhap News) "The 3rd Daegu Startup Awards" summing up the achievements of startup fostering activities will be held at Daegu Samsung Creativity Campus on October 31.

On August 27, Daegu City and Daegu Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, they will receive recommendation for candidates by September 9 to discover and reward outstanding startups, investors and supporters who contributed to stimulating local startups.

In two categories, outstanding startups and supporters for startups, they will take recommendation from relevant organizations and investment institutions.

Those eligible for outstanding startups are who contributed to local economy, with a head office, branch, or research center in Daegu, and 7 years or less than establishment. If selected, they will receive KRW 3 million to KRW 7 million funds for commercialization.

Those eligible for the category of supporters for startups are who contributed to stimulating the startup ecosystem through incubation or investment, for 3 years or more.
