KIWW 2019 held in Daegu was closed

According to Yonhap News,

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) "Korea International Water Week (KIWW) 2019" with a subject of "Sustainable Water Management for Humans and Nature" was concluded successfully.

On September 8, Daegu Metropolitan City announced that KIWW held during September 4-7 at EXCO, was attended by 14,000 visitors from 83 countries.

The number of participating countries and foreigners (600) set a new record.

Daegu City explained that it advanced into a hub of international water industry through cooperation and connection with global water cities including Montpellier of France and Frisia of Netherlands and international water related organizations such as the International Water Resources Association and National Sanitation Foundation.

On September 5, the city signed an MOU with Montpellier where world's leading water companies such as Veolia and SUEZ are located, Dyetec Institute, and Aqua Valley to cooperate on the water industry at World Water City Forum, laying a stepping stone for local water companies to enter European market.

During KIWW, Water Alliance, a Netherlands-based water management institute visited Lotte Chemical Factory at National Water Industry Cluster in Dalseong, Daegu to check on the specifics of products. Meanwhile, Hwado Chemical discussed technology transfer with Vietnam's water-related organization.

Daegu city mayor said, "As this KIWW was timed with the opening ceremony of the National Water Cluster, the standing of Daegu as a leader of the water industry was further advanced."
