DAEGU < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

The very first and large startup event ‘Daegu Startup Week’ kicked off at the Daegu Samsung Creative Campus, EXCO and Kyungpook national university on Oct 28.

The city announced that they’re planning to make it an annual event, opening this Daegu Startup Week every end of October to help anyone who have creative ideas start and run business here in Daegu. With 50 invitees, the local authority ran 37 different startup programs letting future entrepreneurs learn more of how to start business.

The beginning of the show started with a series of seminars, a showcase to attract investors and a lecture on IPO protection. On 31, a special ceremony signing a partnership agreement between two large sponsors – the city of Daegu and Samsung- to raise ‘Youth VC fund’ has been made.

The highlight of this one week event was held at the convention center in EXCO, inviting 1,500 businessmen home and abroad.

The mayor of the city said “We’ve prepared a lot for the show through which anyone can have one-on-one counseling service, investment channel and learn more about how to run business. We’ll seek a more active role in promoting investment in the city.”
