Daegu city to run a city project to give local businesses a boost amid woes from the coronavirus
The city of Daejeon announced on Apr. 7 that the local authorities are running a municipal project to help local businesses hit hard by the recent coronavirus shock stay in.
With a total of KRW 16 billion (KRW 12 billion from the industry ministry and KRW 4 billion from city budget), Daegu city will help local autoparts producers and cosmetics/ food manufacturers try sampling, develop merchandise commercially valid and expand into overseas markets over the next two years.
In case of auto industry, they city starts to shift business paradigm from traditional manufacturing to future auto technology. For cosmetic business, Daegu city set a masterplan to newly build up a testing ground where local enterprises can self-evaluate product quality to enhance mid-long term industrial competitiveness.
