According to Yonhap News,

The city of Daegu revealed an outline on Aug 23 to step up the pace of fostering future tech specialists, as part of countermeasures to handle a tech talent shortage in the coming age of the fourth industrial revolution. Further specifically, the city government pours as much as KRW 7.1 billion in total into discovering and training nearly 1,000 software engineers who’re well ready to be mobilized under the detailed guidelines for the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT)’s “ICT innovation Square Project” by the year 2022.

To push on the city-led plan, Kyungpook National University’s industrial sponsorship team will be in charge, by forming a facility near the city hall. They’ll also design a 160 hour class curriculum, required to meet with industry demand, through which students can join courses for beginners to advanced learners by each level.

All the courses will be provided free of charge and for people from all walks of life- those employed or who wish to be entrepreneurs, job seekers etc., allowing students to attend the open classes anytime they want, day or night, via both on and offline format. Anyone interested in the program can click www.tkai.koipa.or.kr and submit application forms once the entire process to set up the courses is over next month.
