DYETEC hosted the very first round of “Dornbirn International Textile Conference in Asia” on Mar 23, which went virtual due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. The annual conference which has taken place under the sponsorship from ‘the Voice of the European Apparel and Textile Industry (EURATEX)’ in Dornbirn, Austria since 1961, was held in Daegu city for the first time this year.

At the presence of over 800 guests from 30 countries, 32 business representatives including Austria’s LENZING, Hyundai Motors, Hyosung, KOLON and Huvis etc. gave keynote lecturers under the five main themes of tech-innovations in textile industry, the trends and outlook of textile business (felt, industrial purpose textiles, functional textiles, applications of textiles in automobile industry), sustainability and a circular economy in the textile industry.

Following a keynote speech by Pierre Wiertz, the General Manger of European Disposables and Nonwoven Association (EDANA), who talked about the textile industry in the post-COVID19 world, presentations sessions sharing the latest industry technologies took place.

One of researchers at DYETEC Korea said “I make sure that the venue may serve as a platform whereby members in the textile industry convene, share information on the breakthroughs and run a joint-research project.”
