According to Yonhap News,

Starting from Apr 28, the 18th International Green Energy Expo and Conference 2021, a venue to showcase the latest renewable energy technologies, products and services across the world, will be held in the city of Daegu. With net-zero emission targets by 2050 among major economies including Korea, the expo is anticipated to help global energy businesses convene to share insights and views on the path towards a low carbon economy.

Nearly 220 solar, hydrogen and rechargeable battery businesses from 15 countries are reported to take part in the show, running approximately 720 booths. Even in the midst of the ongoing impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, the world’s 10th largest photovoltaic (PV) batteries and solar panel developers – Longi Solar, Trinasolar, EA Solar Co., Ltd, Hanqha Q Cells etc.- are also set to join.

In addition, PV inverter producer Huawei, Sungrow, SMA Solar Technology AG and FIMER Group are scheduled to attend and display distinct technologies at the expo.

There will be a dozen conferences to be held including 2021 PV Market Insights (PVMI 2021) where global energy companies come together to have in-depth discussions over the market trend and outlook. By hosting an inauguration ceremony in celebration of a civic engagement campaign, ‘RE100’, an acronym that stands for renewable energy 100%, the city will have an open discussion session to let citizens talk more on how to achieve energy transition in the age of climate change which requires to go carbon neutral.

This year, in particular, the city government shifted the format of the show, which goes both on and offline to make the event open to global buyers having difficulties in taking part in the exhibition. These visitors can browse and enjoy virtual showroom, which also serves as a marketplace as well where video ads, showcasing and even consulting services are all available. 73 buyers from 12 countries from China, the U.S., Germany, Vietnam, India and Canada are going to come and join the expo.
