The city of Daegu announced on May 17 that this year’s Preview in Daegu, an annual textile trade fair hosted in Daegu city, has ended up a great success, attracting almost 14,000 visitors worldwide.

The fair, held on May 12-14 under the sponsorship of Daegu city and North Gyeongsang Province, invited 194 businesses at home and abroad, showcasing textile innovations which include as thread, fabric, items in home décor, products and materials used for hygiene production.

This year, in particular, the city government shifted the format of the event that combines both in-person (8,234) and virtual shows (6,338), called ‘hybrid’, attracting nearly 14,600 visitors and reached a USD 170 million worth deal having business talks with potential buyers across the world.

A web-based online business consulting session in connection with the virtual PID showrooms exhibited in the city of Dalian in China and the EXCO event halls got the most positive feedback form the event attendees.

“Having the show end up a great success, we’re so proud of such consolidation the business leaders in the textile industry have shown to host the fair even in the midst of the lingering COVID-19 impact.”, a senior level official said.
