A business support project, co-sponsored by the city of Daegu and Korea Optical Industry Agency (KOIA) to spend nearly KRW 2.5 billion on forming a smart distribution warehouse, a type of fulfillment center designed for better inventory management and control of eyewear, particularly, in Buk-gu, called an ‘eyewear cluster’ in the city of Daegu. The construction project is scheduled to start in the second half of next year.
On top of that, the city is also set to invest as much as KRW 1.5 billion over the next three years in providing an aid package aiming to identify innovative business model and to offer marketing and business mentoring services to boost export.
“The project is highly anticipated to help locally based small and mid-sized businesses, struggling to stave off from the recent pandemic-induced recession gain growth momentum, so as to take the lead in digital new deal and to bring vigor into the community economy.” a city official said.
