The government will support projects concerning pending issues of Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, including Daegu's city convergence special zone and Gyeongbuk Donghae-line subway with its next year budget.
2nd vice minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOFE) discussed the issues on a budget committee for Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, held at Gyeongbuk provincial office on August 3.
At the committee, Daegu-si and Gyeongbuk-do asked for national funding on various projects aiming to revitalize the local economy and expanding local culture and tourism infrastructure, among others.
The government plans to support projects, mostly focused on those related with national balanced development, including Daegu industrial line railway, and Gyeongbuk Donghae line subway development.
It will also support: development of specialized industries including local regulation-free special zones like Daegu mobile cooperation robot, Gyeongbuk Industrial Hemp Regulatory Free Zone; and regional balance new deal projects such as establishment of Daegu Green Energy Campus, transition of Gyeongbuk Gimcheon into smart logistics hub city, and Daegu city convergence special area.
The vice minister also visited Gumi Smart Green Industrial Complex, checking on the status of project implementation and safety management system.
