According to Yonhap News,

The Asia Pacific Federation of Pharmacologists (APFP), an international academic event held every four years, will be held in Daegu in 2028.

Daegu-si said on December 7 that the Korean Society of Pharmacology (KOSPHAR) recently succeeded in attracting the '2028 Asia-Pacific Federation of Pharmacologists' to Daegu.

The APFP is a large-scale academic conference participated by over 1,000 people from 26 countries, including pharmacology experts, research institutes, and pharmaceutical companies, who are studying basic and clinical pharmacology, toxicology, and physiology in the Asia-Pacific region. In Korea, the KOSPHAR has been participating as a member.

Daegu has successively attracted the International Congress of Parasitology in 2018, IBRO World Congress of Neuroscience in 2019, the Congress of the Asian and Oceanic Physiological Societies in 2023, and the Asia-Pacific Federation of Pharmacologists in 2028.

A Daegu city official said, "We will use these events as an opportunity to develop the local medical industry by raising the status of Medi City Daegu and attracting investment from global pharmaceutical companies."
