The national robot testfield establishment project, which Daegu won after competition between 6 local governments, made a first step.
Daegu-si announced on February 3 that this project was recently selected for the preliminary feasibility study at the General Committee for National R&D Project Evaluation.
The preliminary feasibility study is a system that verifies economic and policy feasibility of a project in which a large amount of government budget is invested.
The study will be conducted by the Korea Institute of Science & Technology Evaluation (KISTEP), and the result will be announced in August this year.
The national robot testfield, to be built in Daegu Technopolis, aims to build a service robot test infrastructure in a real environment basis. By 2029, a total of KRW 308.4 billion budget, including KRW 218.9 billion from national treasury, will be invested.
When this project is complete, Daegu-si expects to be taking root as a leading city in the service robot field.
