According to Newsis,
Daegu-si announced on February 7 that it will establish an innovative growth ecosystem of the future car industry to stimulate regional auto parts companies to transform into future cars, along with Daegu Regional Office of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME).
To closely support structural transition of local industry, the KOSME designated 10 regional offices including Daegu, out of 33 regional offices nationwide, as 'Structural Innovation Support Center'. It is to support 200 companies for transition of local companies to future cars by 2030.
The one-stop support system the KOSME established will provide one-stop support to resolve various difficulties the companies would face in the process of transition to future cars, including ▲ diagnosis on the current status of companies hoping for transition ▲ provision of in-depth consultation such as accounting and labor affairs and ▲one-stop package support.
In particular, it will support operational funds necessary for facility funding for transition to future cars and business management through policy fund loans worth KRW 20 billion. The application deadline is until the budget runs out.
Those eligible for support are SMEs in accordance with the article 2 of 'Framework Act on SMEs', and in the process of or want the transition to future cars. However, those closed or suspended business or failed in tax payment are excluded.
