Daegu-si concluded 'MoUs to support project for cooperation between large corporations and promising ABB (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Big Data) companies' with Kakao, Korea Credit Data, Korea Biz Connect, and other enterprises on Jan 13.
These arrangements were to form a base for ecology on/in which small-sized local companies can partner up with domestic IT giants to overcome regional limitations and advance together.
The MoUs stipulate that Daegu-si and other organizations are to select six ABB companies in the region this year and help them to establish partnerships with big IT companies engaged in the project.
By so doing, Kakao, Korea Credit Data, Korea Biz Connect, and others are scheduled to participate together in joint technology development project planning, networking, and technology exchanges, as well as actively share data retained by the companies participating in the project.
According to the following year's plan, three out of six participating companies of the first-round year will be selected for inducement of demonstrating and commercializing the technology.
A city official explained, "Starting with this project, we will use the spread of cooperative models between homegrown IT giants and local ABB companies to make a continuous virtuous cycle that enriches the soil in which promising startups can grow further."
