The 7th Steel & Metal Korea (SMK), which will examine the present and future of the steel industry, will open at the largest ever scale at Exco, Daegu on October 11.
EXCO said on October 4 that this industrial exhibition will be held for three days, starting from October 11 under the theme of "Leading the Future Industry".
More than 200 domestic and foreign companies, the highest number ever, will participate in 600 booths.
The exhibition is designed to observe the present and future of the steel and non-ferrous metal industries, converged with various future industries such as batteries, renewable energy, and carbon neutrality, which have been in limelight recently.
Exhibition items will be introduced in divisions of: future metal materials; high value-added high-tech metal materials; high-functioning steel pipes and wire cables; and processing facilities and technologies.
In addition, various special halls such as: a battery special hall; a special hall for eco-friendly energy such as hydrogen, carbon neutrality, new and renewable energy; and an overseas joint hall will be prepared, giving a glimpse of the unlimited potential for expansion of the steel industry.
Meanwhile, leading domestic and foreign companies such as POSCO and Hyundai Steel will showcase a roadmap for carbon neutrality.
The "Agenda 23 Conference" will also be held to explore the most urgent issues in the steel and non-ferrous metals industries and response measures.
