On January 29, Daegu-si announced that it will put into KRW 139 billion this year to become a future mobility-oriented city.
The city will create a global motor production hub by investing KRW 15.5 billion in specialized complexes including Daegu National Industrial Complex.
It will also go ahead with fostering mobility motor innovation technology (KRW 2.7 billion), building electromagnetic interference test system (KRW 2.5 billion), and creating a specialized complex test bed (KRW 4.9 billion).
In addition, it will establish future mobility autonomous driving test platform (KRW 4.5 billion) based on CAV (connected autonomous vehicle) to enable Level 4 autonomous driving tests and build future digital convergence industry demonstration platform (KRW 11 billion).
When it comes to UAM (Urban Air Mobility), it will pursue the development of core technologies jointly with Hanwha System by investing KRW 700 million of municipal funds to support the industry at the early stages.
Furthermore, it plans to spend KRW 76.8 billion to supply 6,274 eco-friendly cars from next month, while installing 4,000 chargers.
Its mayor said, "we will do our best to make Daegu the No.1 city in Korea in the competitiveness of the future mobility industry."
