Daegu-si will lay the groundwork for emergence as Korea's leading robot city, by investing KRW 32.7 billion over the next three years.
On February 20, Daegu-si held a meeting with Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) to seek cooperation with the central government, on 'Region+end 50+', a project that pushed for specialization of regions, to seek ways to collaborate with the central government.
Region+end 50+ is a regional specialization project planned through collaboration between the MSS and local governments, which is a representative policy to foster local SMEs.
With KRW 10.9 billion support this year as a starter, Daegu-si plans to invest KRW 32.7 billion by 2026 to significantly strengthen the capabilities of robot SI companies and manufacturing companies.
To this end, the city plans to implement key policy measures of the MSS including innovation vouchers, smart factories, SMEs policy financing loans, and export vouchers, as well as projects to foster regional main industries by supporting prototype manufacturing and technology development.
An official from Daegu-si said, "we will make efforts to make Daegu a leading robot city by actively fostering future-oriented smart manufacturing industries based on ABB (AI, Big Data, Block Chain) convergence technologies.
