SJ Innotech to build a secondary battery module plant in Kumho Waterpolis, Daegu

SJ Innotech, a manufacturer of semiconductor manufacturing machinery, will build a facility to produce secondary battery module and pack in Daegu.

On April 30, Daegu-si signed an investment agreement with SJ Innotech at the City Hall.

SJ Innotech will build related facilities by investing KRW 129.3 billion gradually by 2027 on a 50,860㎡ (about 15,385 pyeong) site in Kumho Waterpolis, Daegu.

The investment is aimed at responding to the growing demand for EV batteries. It is said that this new facility will focus on mass production of next-generation high-efficiency battery modules and packs.

Established in 1997, SJ Innotech has been producing industrial screen printers and factory automation facilities used for the semiconductor packaging process.
