DAEGU < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

On May 21, Daegu-si announced that it has selected three 'Powerful Star Enterprises' that will drive the revitalization of the local economy and transformation of industrial structure.

Companies selected through document screening, on-site inspection, presentation, and deliberation by the selection committee are THN, a producer of vehicle wire harnesses, electric components and controllers, Dentis, a dental medical device producer, and Young Poong, a food producing company including Topokki.

As of last year, the three companies recorded KRW 201 billion in the average sales, hired 347 employees on average, and plan to invest KRW 92.1 billion in total over the next three years starting this year.

The project Powerful Star Enterprises aim to discover companies investing (or planning to invest) KRW 20 billion in Daegu during the project period (2024-2026) and foster them into global companies representing Daegu.

The selected companies will be provided with various support including customized business expenses for their growth including R&D task planning, business reorganization, additional points when applying for industrial facilities sites sales, raising the loan limit of Daegu Bank, and ESG management consulting.

Daegu's mayor said, "we will actively provide support so that Powerful Star Enterprises grow into leading companies driving Daegu's economy."
