According to Yonhap News,

Daegu-si will cooperate with specialized companies to foster the AI semiconductor industry.

On July 24, Daegu-si signed an MOU with six AI semiconductor companies, including FuriosaAI, DEEPX, and Mobilint, to foster the AI semiconductor industry and Daegu's capabilities in the semiconductor industry.

On the afternoon of the 24th, Daegu City signed a business agreement with six domestic AI semiconductor-related companies, including Puriosa AI, DeepX, and Mobileint, to foster the AI semiconductor industry and strengthen Daegu's semiconductor industry capabilities.

Participating organizations and companies will cooperate in demonstration of domestic AI semiconductors, development of semiconductor SW, establishment of semiconductor SW centers, and development of manpower.

Participating companies are working on the development of Neural Processing Unit (NPU), that are faster and consume less power than graphics processing units (GPUs), which NVIDIA dominates the market.

Daegu-si plans to establish an AI semiconductor SW support center in Dongdaegu Venture Valleyni the future.

The city will also open an intelligent semiconductor design support center in the second half of this year.
