According to Yonhap News,

On September 1, Daegu-si said that it has been selected for the "Building a Foundation for the uation of Performance and Stability of Outdoor Mobile Robots" public competition by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).

Accordingly, the city will establish an infrastructure to test and uate the performance and collision safety of samrt robot that is capable of self-driving for delivery and patrol, promoting the technology development and commercialization.

It will invest KRW 19.59 billion, including state fund of KRW 10 billion, to establish an outdoor mobile robot uation center on the site for project of the national robot test field and prepare uation equipment by 2028.

Daegu-si expects that this project to create synergy effect with the national robot test field, the only comprehensive demonstration infrastructure for service robots, making the performance and safety uation ecosystem equipped with test, demonstration, and certification of outdoor mobile robots.

The project to create the national robot test field, which passed a preliminary feasibility study in August last year, has been going well with MOU between involved organizations, site purchase contracts, and demand survey of robot-related companies.
