In August, the trade balance in Daegu and Gyeongbuk recorded a surplus of USD 2.34 billion.
According to the July import and export status data by Daegu Regional Customs Office released on September 19, Daegu and Gyeongbuk recorded exports of USD 4.44 billion and imports of USD 2.1 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of USD 2.34 billion.
In the case of Daegu, exports recorded USD 690 million, 19.6% down from the same month last year.
Exports of chemical and industrial products (-59.3%) decreased, while exports of automobiles and auto parts (-14.3%) and textiles (-2.2%) were also sluggish.

On the other hand, exports of Gyeongbuk region rose 9.2% year-on-year to USD 3.75 billion.
