Daegu-si signed an MOU with the Los Angeles Korean American Chamber of Commerce (KACCLA) in the U.S. to help the local food companies enter the U.S. market on September 28.

The two sides have agreed to jointly push for cooperative projects to identify various demands of the companies entering the US and prepare responsive measures, including export brokerage, information provision, investment information and related trends sharing, and support for the establishment of a promotion network in the U.S.

The MOU is the first step to expand exports to the US in connection with various policies, such as support for international certification of food exports and the development of customized products for each country, which had been pursued to transform Daegu's food industry, mostly remain domestic, into exports-oriented.
