According to Yonhap News,
Daegu City will expand WiFi (wireless fidelity) zones, as it braces for IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 and Visit Daegu Year.
Daegu City said on March 16th that it would set up 115 WiFi zones by July centering on Daegu Stadium, which is the main venue for the Championships, athletequarters, officially designated hotels for the event, East Daegu Station, a marathon course, and major tourist attractions through consultations with Koreathree leading mobile carriers.
The goal is to provide WiFi networks to tourists and promote Daegu as a city with advanced IT infrastructure.
The City said people can use wireless Internet service for free regardless of their mobile carriers during IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 (August 27th - September 4th).
Also, Daegu plans to set up WiFi zones at 12 traditional markets and downtown cultural streets.
