 According to Yonhap News,

Daegu City said on April 4th that it would aggressively draw Japanese companies based on its analysis that leading Japanese companies started to secure production bases by venturing into overseas countries in the wake of the recent devastating earthquake.

Accordingly, Daegu invited eight officials of the academia, economic institutes, and Japanese export companies who are experts in the Japanese economic and industrial status to the meeting on the strategy to induce investment from Japanese companies.

Participants mainly discussed Japanese companies’ strategy to advance into foreign countries and measures to efficiently court Japanese investment at the meeting.

Daegu plans to devise strategies to encourage Japanese companies to choose Daegu as their production base and begin aggressive promotional activities starting in the first half of this year.

Also, the City will dispatch a group of visitors chaired by the Director of Economy and Trade Division to companies in Japan.

Director An Guk-jung of Economy and Trade Division of Daegu said “we will fully utilize the help of regional figures who have network with Japanese companies, and focus our promotional efforts on companies recommended by experts to bring about tangible results.”
