According to Yonhap News,

Daegu Convergence Technology Research Center of Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) will be established in the Technopolis (TP).

Daegu City and the KIMM are scheduled to hold a groundbreaking of the center next week in the TP.

A total of 34.3 billion won will be injected into establishing a 1,200 square meter-building on a 33,000 square meter-site by next August. If completed, the center will play a key role in conducting R&D on medical equipment and the green energy.

The convergence center has used the TP Convergence R&D Center as its temporary office after opening last January.

After establishment, it will focus on the development of medical robots and diagnosis equipment and R&D on photovoltaic power, fuel cells and LED.
