DAEGU < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

Daegu has been chosen as the host city of the Asia-Pacific Conference of Transducers and Micro-Nano Technology (APCOT) in 2014 at the APCOT 2012, being held in Nanjing, China from Sunday.

The APCOT 2014, to be co-hosted by Korean Sensors Society and the Society of Micro and Nano System, will be held at Daegu Exhibition and Convention Center in July 2014.

The conference is a venue where about 700 people including world-renowned engineers, researchers and experts gather to share updated information and research results on transducers and micro-nano technology.

The conference is expected not only to accelerate the city's efforts to build a business network for the sensor industry and make newly-invented technology commercially available but to boost the regional convention and tourism industry.

"The conference will be an opportunity for Daegu's academic, industrial and research groups to grow further. Plus, the event is expected to generate economic benefits worth a total of 6.5 billion won," said Gwak Yeong-gil, a Daegu official in charge of policy concerning new growth engine.
