Daegu-based IT companies provided consulting services on exports worth $19 million during the Mobile IT Global Roadshow, held in India's Mumbai and Vietnam's Hanoi late last month, according to Daegu Technopark (Daegu TP).
Seven IT companies including Sandeul Information & Technology participated in the roadshow with financial supports from Daegu City and the Mobile Convergence Center, under the umbrella of Daegu TP.
India and Vietnam are emerging as attractive markets for IT-related manufacturers seeking to expand their presence in the global market, since India has $79.8 billion-IT market and Vietnam has decided to inject $12 billion into the IT industry by 2020.
Sandeul Information & Technology agreed with local buyers to install wireless digital tank measurement solution at India's gas stations on a trial basis for the modernization of gas station management.
CMAX Wireless has also secured a route to the Indian market for 4G devices through consulting services, offered to RC, India's largest communication provider.
Hankook Sensor, a mobile current sensor relay manufacturer, discussed $430,000-worth export contracts with local buyers from the two countries.
In addition, the Mobile Convergence Center signed a cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Information-Technology Business Women's Association and India IT Trade Association and another MOU with Vietnam SW Association.
"Potential foreign buyers who participated in the roadshow plan to visit Daegu in November, which is expected to lead to visible achievement such as export contracts," said Seo Han-gyo, a promotion chief of Daegu TP.
