According to Yonhap News,

The Water Expo and Conference 2012, which is designed to prepare for the 7th World Water Forum 2015 and nurture the domestic water industry, is scheduled to be held Wednesday at Daegu Exhibition Convention Center.

About 60 companies, including GS Construction, TAEYOUNG Engineering & Construction, KOLON WATER & ENERGY, ROYAL PRECISION IND. and Dohwa Engineering, will operate 170 booths to introduce their technology concerning environmental plant, water and sewage system, recycle of water, development of water resources and water treatment.

The membrane pavilion, rainwater pavilion, world water forum 2015 promotion pavilion will be open to the public.

The membrane refers to a thin, film-like structure that separates two fluids and acts as a selective barrier, allowing some particles or chemicals to pass through, but not others, which is emerging as a core material for the water industry.

The water pavilion will display bottled water from various countries and provide information on water bills and consumption of each country.

Various events on water, energy, membrane and textile dyes will be held on the sideline of the Water Expo and Conference.

Glen Diagger, Chairman of the International Water Association, will deliver a keynote speech under the topic of "Ten Trends of World Water Market."

Following the speech, water experts will make presentations about "Energy Independence in Treatment of Wastewater," "Energy for Water," "Use of Energy in Desalination," and "Global Companies Advancing into the Water Market and Their Water Management Strategy."

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs and Korea Water Resources Corporation will hold a photo exhibition on Korea's four-river restoration project.

"The Water Expo and Conference 2012 will be an opportunity to introduce various water-related products and offer relevant information ahead of the World Water Forum 2015," said Daegu Mayor Kim Beom-il.
