According to Yonhap News,
The Energy and Climate Change Subcommittee for the Association of Northeast Asia Regional Governments (NEAR) was held at the Daegu Exhibition Convention Center from last Tuesday to Thursday.
Daegu established the subcommittee in 2009 to commemorate the city's selection as the host city for the 2013 World Energy Council.
The subcommittee attracted 50 representatives of 12 regional governments from northeast countries including China, Mongol and Russia to discuss energy and climate change.
The NEAR, founded in 1996 to facilitate cooperation among northeast Asia's regional governments, has 71 regional government members from 6 countries and its executive office is located in Pohang, north Gyeongsang Province.
The Energy and Climate Change Subcommittee was a good opportunity for Daegu to promote our leading status in the energy and environmental sector," said a Daegu official.
