According to Yonhap News,
Wonju Medical Industry Techno Valley in Wonju, Gangwon Province, Daegu-Gyeongbuk (north Gyeongsang Province) Support Center for Cutting-Edge Medical Device and Osong Support Center for Cutting-Edge Medical Device in north Chungcheong Province inked a cooperation agreement for cultivation and development of the domestic cutting-edge medical device industry, emerging as a new growth engine of the national economy.
Under the agreement, they will work together to resolve grievances of medical device manufacturers and provide supports for the commercialization of technology.
Plus, they agreed to join efforts in developing tests and certificates for medical devices and establishing the quality control system.
Daegu-Gyeongbuk Support Center for Cutting-Edge Medical Device and Osong Support Center for Cutting-Edge Medical Device will lead the development of technology via aggressive R&D activities, while Wonju Medical Industry Techno Valley will be responsible for production and marketing of newly developed medical devices.
The trilateral cooperation is expected to further strengthen the technological prowess of domestic medical device industry at home and abroad.
