According to Yonhap News,
The Korea Institute of Footwear & Leather Technology, Korea Textile Development Institute and Korea Dying Technology Center held a seminar and signing ceremony Wednesday for co-development of the footwear and textile industry, major sectors of Busan-si (City) and Daegu-si (City). Officials from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Busan and Daegu were present at the event.
The three specialized institutes agreed to cooperate to conduct joint study on core technology, share information on the latest technology and exchange researchers in a bid to promote the co-development of the two cities' major industry.
Exhibition on textiles for footwear and advanced functional materials and presentations on the textiles and footwear were also held on the sideline of the event.
The event will create synergy in developing new materials and technology with relevant businesses, the two cities expect.
Daegu is well-known for high-end technology in materials including thread and fabric while Busan has strengths in making materials commercially available by applying them to products.
