The 13th Daegu Medi Expo was held last week in Daegu. The expo was hosted by the North Gyeongsang Province, Daegu city and the Institute for Korea Traditional Medical Industry.

Under the theme of globalization of the traditional medicine industry, not only Korean but also excellent traditional medicine industries from around the world were introduced at the expo.

The expo aimed at sharing knowledge and techniques and facilitating the development of traditional medicine industry to promote excellence of traditional medicine.

The expo showcased 104 booths with about 40 companies, organizations and universities.

The first floor of the expo exhibited raw materials for medicine, herbal medicine cosmetics, traditional herbal medicine clinics, medical equipment, herbal wellbeing food, related agencies and organizations and an experience zone.

Visitors also had a chance to see new drugs made with natural substances, medicinal herbs, rare and extinct medicinal crops and raw materials for medicine at this year’s expo.

Various academic events including seminars on natural substances were also offered to discuss measures to develop regional traditional medicine industry.
