Seogu District of Daegu signed a letter of intent for cooperation for youth exchanges yesterday with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

It is significant that it widened the horizon of the youth global exchange programs to the United States, which was limited to English-speaking countries in Northeast Asia.

Mayor of Seogu Kang Sung-ho and Executive Director of Office of the International Affairs of the University of Colorado Anthony Shull and others attended the signing ceremony.

The letter is an agreement to build a mutual cooperation system before signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

It contains summer exchange programs for Seogu students, Seogu exchange programs for Colorado Springs students and exchange measures.

The MOU will be signed July 2014. Every year about 7 elementary and middle school students from Seogu will have a chance to study in the United States.

Mayor Gang noted that the cooperation will enable students to learn and experience more, and adding that he will focus on more diverse and quality educational exchanges.
