According to Seo-gu, Daegu last Sunday, number of textile tourists participating in programs, which offer visits to the Korea Textile Development Institute, Jinyoung P&T LTD. and the Queens Road, reached 1,882 since last November.
About 630 tourists also made reservations for the tour programs.
The textile tourism program was selected for industrial tourism promotion project, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last year.
The programs offer demonstrations of 15 textile materials, visits to fiber processing plants, observations of dyeing and printing and shopping at Queens Road.
Guides for foreign visitors who can speak English and Chinese are also provided.
A Daegu official noted that tourism infrastructure was built with a budget of KRW 100 million last year, adding that the city will focus on facilitating the tourism industry by developing promotional materials and installing photo zones with an investment of KRW 65 million this year.
