Seo-gu, Daegu City announced last week that it signed a sister city agreement with Bacolod, Philippines.
About 100 officials from both cities attended the agreement signing ceremony, held in Bacolod last week.
With the agreement, Seo-gu and Bacolod will cooperate to enhance exchanges in areas of education, economy, culture and arts and tourism, build a friendly environment for knowledge exchanges and mutual visits and build a cooperative partnership.
Seo-gu also signed a memorandum of understanding with Bacolod last year for youth and friendly exchanges.
About 40 students from Seogu are participating in youth exchange programs, at University of St. La Salle from last week.
Seogu mayor of Kang Sung-ho noted that the agreement will lay the foundation for exchanges in various fields, adding that the two cities will reinforce the cooperative partnership for shared growth.
