According to Yonhap News,
(DAEGU = Yonhap News) Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement will invest a total of KRW 37.6 billion to build a cluster, aiming to develop a hub for the research and business development (R&BD) of the robot industry.
The 12,053m2 cluster, which will be located in the 3rd industrial complex in Buk-gu, comprises a robot innovation center (five floors above the ground and one floor underground) and a robot cooperative factory.
The robot innovation center includes 38 facilities for companies to move in, and development and inspection equipment.
The robot cooperative factory will comprise equipment used for the commercialization of robots.
KIRIA explained that once the construction is completed, the center will be able to provide support for the robot industry in the fields of development, production, performance evaluation, mass production and launch of the final products.
It is also expected to help the industry strengthen its other competitiveness.
“We will do our best to help Daegu become a hub of Korea’s robot industry,” said Director of KIRIA.
