Daegu Recognized for Its Efforts in Deregulation
(DAEGU = Newsis) The city of Daegu announced on February 10 that it was designated as the best authority in the Ministry of Security and Public Administration (MOSPA)’s assessment of the local regulatory deregulation and was awarded a presidential citation.
The assessment, which was introduced by the MOSPA last year, focuses on the local government’s development of appropriate infrastructure for regulatory reform, development of investment infrastructure, results of investment promotion activities and ability to resolve businesses’ complaints and difficulties.
Detailed criteria are as follows: ▲ the degree of interest regarding regulatory reform ▲ improvement of licensing procedure efficiency ▲ central government regulatory reform ▲ improvement of legislations related to restraint on competition ▲ local regulatory reform ▲ development of regional investment infrastructure ▲ improvement of business environment and settlement of difficulties arising from operation of a business ▲ survey on the condition of business regulatory activities.
The city also extended of reduction period for traffic-induced allotment, and allowed to build power facilities for solar energy and fuel cell. It also allowed a company to add a new business in a general industrial complex on condition that it will set up a pollution control plant that is capable of complete treatment of pollutants emitted from plants and facilities.
