According to Yonhap News,

(DAEGU = Yonhap News) The Daegu Foundation for Culture announced on March 12 that it will introduce various cultural donation programs to promote cultural donations among local residents.

Last year, the foundation implemented a telephone donation system “cultural sharing ARS”. The city will introduce another donation system to encourage citizens to donate KRW 10,000 every month this year.

The city also plans to carry out other projects including “crowd funding”, a donation program which supports artistic projects by donation from citizens. It will also introduce the “matching fund project” to provide the government subsidies for companies that support art organizations.

For citizens who donate more than KRW 5 million for cultural and art fund, the foundation will grant the membership of the “cultural society” and provide opportunities to be inducted into the hall of fame and be granted the “mecenat prize.”

Donors will be eligible for tax support programs and other incentives provided by the foundation.

“The foundation will not only focus on leading the mecenat movement to encourage local companies to actively participate in donation activities, but also spreading a giving culture across the region,” said an official of the foundation.
