(DAEGU = Yonhap News) The 11th International Green Energy Expo will take place from April 2 to 4 in Daegu.
The city of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province first held the event in 2004 to promote the new and renewable energy industry, and it has become one of the leading platforms for the new and renewable energy in Korea.
This year, a total of 350 businesses from 25 countries will participate in the event and operate about 1,000 show booths.
The exhibition has traditionally focused on the solar power and wind power energy, but it will invite businesses from various industries this year including the fuel cell, energy storage systems, electric car and Smart Grid industries.
Domestic conglomerates, Germany’s Schmid and Kacos, Hong Kong’s CXC and Russia’s Monocrystal will participate in the event and show the world-class green energy technologies and products.
Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Korea South East Power Co., Ltd., Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd., Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd., Korea Eastern Power Co., Ltd., Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and Korea Offshore Wind Power will operate a joint information booth.
10 representatives of Uzbekistan, including the vice minister of economy, will visit the expo and receive business consulting service from Korean companies.
Also, the Korea Photovoltaic Industry Association and Korea Wind Energy Industry Association will hold an international conference, and a total of 110 solar power and wind power experts.
“The expo and the conference will play a vital role in revitalizing the depressed new and renewable energy industry and helping domestic companies advance into the global market,” said Kim Bum-il, Mayor of Daegu.
