(DAEGU = Yonhap News) A water park will be built in E-World in Duryu Park in Daegu.

The city of Daegu announced on April 10 that The E-Land Group will build a four-story water park of 100,000m2 total ground area in E-World. The park can accommodate more than 5,000 visitors a day.

The water park comprises wave pools, various water rides and parking lots.

The E-Land Group has collected opinion of local residents since March 20. The company expected to complete the construction by 2017 and pledged to reflect opinions of the residents in the construction project.

The company will invest KRW 50 billion to build the water park and KRW 30 billion to change the water rides and improve facilities to make E-World a four-season theme park.

The water park, together with other amusement facilities and 83 Tower, will attract both local and Chinese tourists, the company said.

“To build the water park, we need to go through various administrative procedures such as the revision by the city’s park management council and draw up measures to prevent traffic congestion,” said an official of Daegu.
