According to Yonhap News,
(SEOUL=Yonhap News) Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) announced on April 28, 2014 that it opened ‘Creative Economy Innovation Center in Daegu’. The center, located in Daegu Technopark, is expected to nurture regional strategic industries and encourage start-ups.
Daegu Metropolitan City has long been considered a manufacturing industry city. The major industries of the city are textiles, metals and machinery. MSIP expected Daegu to become a hub for future growth engines and a key pillar of the inland high-tech science belt in the future as the city now spares no effort to take lead in a ‘creative economy’ era.
The ministry also said ‘Creative Economy Innovation Center in Daegu’ could strengthen a synergy effect through cooperation with relevant agencies since the center is located close to Daegu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Venture Centers and East Daegu Station which is on the national high-speed KTX railway network.
