According to Yonhap News,
(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) announced on July 24 that it will attract more investment in DGFEZ, which will become the hub of construction machinery and parts and medical new materials of the future.
DGFEZ held a briefing session at the Daegu Gyeongbuk Development Institute to establish investment promotion strategies with participants including officials at the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, North Gyeongsang Province and the City of Gyeongsan.
The participants were engaged in an in-depth discussion on national projects and measures to attract leading companies at home and abroad.
The Daegu Gyeongbuk Development Institute will establish investment promotion strategies on behalf of DGFEZ.
The Institute will analyze the development potential of the Gyeongsan Knowledge Industrial Zone, designate foreign investment region, supply tailored land to corporate investors, improve the investment environment and attract foreign-invested companies that are related to the national projects.
DGFEZ will begin the construction of the infrastructure of the national projects from July and put the industrial land in stage 1 for sale from early 2015.
"We cannot deny the fact that the investment environment is stagnant due to the global economic recession and low yen. However, we will strive to revitalize the regional economy through the development of the Gyeongsan Knowledge Industrial Zone,” said DGFEZ Commissioner Byeong Rok Choi.
