DAEGU < invest Korea

(DAEGU=NEWSIS) Daegu will hold the IT Convergence Expo Korea, the leading exhibition in IT convergence, the LED & Display exhibition, a green technology exhibition for energy reduction, and the International Meeting on Information Display (IMID), one of the world’s three display meetings, from August 27 to 29 at Daegu EXCO.

The 9th IT Convergence Expo Korea is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, Daegu City and North Gyeongsang Province.

The Expo shows IT convergence technology including mobile, software, 3D and smart work and some of the participants include the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, the Daegu Mobile Convergence Center, the Daegu Digital Industry Promotion agency and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute.

The special hall for wearable and internet of things (IoT) will display smart watches, smartphones, home appliances and other wearable devices related to everyday life.

The 14th International Meeting on Information Display will be its largest meeting where about 600 dissertations will be published and more than 2000 participants from 25 countries will attend.

The IMID is one of world’s three display meetings along with the Society of Information Display in the United States and the Information Display Workshop in Japan. Despite the IMID was first held in Daegu, it had been held in KINTEX, Ilsan for a long time. Daegu City and North Gyeongsang Province strived to attract back the IMID for four years and Daegu has been hosting the meeting since 2012.
