DAEGU < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) According to Daegu, the Daegu Creative Economy Complex (total area 41,930 ㎡) will consist of centers including a startup support center, culture and arts creative center and SOHO office.

Samsung plans to invest KRW 90 billion in the construction of the complex.

The Daegu Creative Economy Complex is similar to Google Campus, which is to open early next year, in that startups can move into the complex while obtaining the opportunity to receive mentoring, information and networking.

However, the Google Campus provides spaces to only software startups without any financial support. On the other hand, the Daegu Creative Economy Complex offers not only startup and venture related facilities but also convergence business models including cultural spaces.

The Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center, which plays the central role in establishing creative economy ecosystem, will move to the Daegu Creative Economy Complex.

Samsung also plans to support ventures and SMEs, establish KRW 20 billion of creative fund and foster creative talents.

The complex will promote the advancement and value added in major industries including textiles, automobile parts and industrial machinery.
