(DAEGU=NEWSIS) Daegu City will sign memorandum of understandings (MOU) with three Chinese cities including Yixing, Wenzhou and Zhengzhou to cooperate in the environment sector.
A delegation of ten city officials left the city on January 13 to visit the three cities and reach MOUs with them.
The city is speeding up to enter the Chinese market as China is emerging as one of the largest environment markets in the world due to the Chinese government’s seriousness towards its severe environmental degradation.
China is negotiating with Europe and Japan to establish environment infrastructure including wastewater treatment plants across the country.
"Now is the right time to advance into the Chinese environment market. The MOUs with China will support the development of a national water industry cluster and regional environment industry," said a city official.
